Brintons partners with designstudio ltd to produce custom Axminster and Hand Tufted carpet for W Philadelphia.

W Philadelphia, a trendy and upscale hotel located in the city's downtown area, opened its doors July 2021. When deciding to partner with Brintons, Owner + Creative Director of design studio ltd Sharilyn Olson Rigdon used inspiration from exploring the city and generating ideas based on the history and culture. Each area of the hotel has different inspiration and references giving guests a unique experience during their stay.

Brintons supplied abstract floral Axminster carpet in the sun-drenched Great Room which features floor-to-ceiling windows, circular lighting fixtures and shimmering wall finishes resembling the night sky. The carpet design includes exaggerated, digitalized references to the 1940s needlepoint artwork found on display at Philadelphia’s Fabric Workshop and Museum.

Walking into the Living Room provides a moodier, 70s style atmosphere featuring a bar and cozy booths for guests to enjoy and relax. While envisioning this area, Sharilyn Olson Ridgdon was inspired by the sunken gardens of Fairmount Park in the early 20th century which heavily influenced the center layout of the Living Room. Green banquets divide the space like a hedge wall and grand columns replicate tree canopies throughout. Giving nod to the natural elements in a modern, urban environment are the bright, floral hand tufted rounds adorned on the floor also created by Brintons.
