The Union League of Philadelphia

Brintons collaborated with Union League of Philadelphia on the historic building’s year-long renovation.

The renovation goal was to offer hotel guests a new experience by updating the dramatic staircase, the main entrance off Broad Street, the Sansom Street entrance, and the ballrooms.

The team chose patterns from Stacy Garcia’s collaboration with Brintons, complete with a custom Union League symbol that includes their motto Amor Patriae Ducit or Love of Country Leads. The rich blues and golds, significant to the League’s history, provide a seamless transition from one space to the next.

The Union League of Philadelphia was founded in 1862 and is ranked the #1 City Club in the country. The building occupies an entire city block in the center of the commercial and cultural district and was originally built to support the Union and the policies of President Abraham Lincoln. It inspired other Union Leagues across the nation and has hosted high-status guests such as U.S. Presidents and heads of state.

From the design studio online, to the flooding of floorplans and the color poms available, I really felt we could do anything we needed and quickly. Turnaround time was exceptional, and the professional experience and involvement of the Brintons Design Team made the project fun.
