Situated along the pristine white beach of Fort Lauderdale, The Corniche Condominium boasts of quintessential luxury with million-dollar ocean views, expansive wrap around balconies and resort style living. Built in 1991, the building features classic architecture with a subdued Art Deco style. The goal of this refurbishment was to update the common areas in an elegant, classic and timeless manner.
Alice Tamas found her inspiration from the property’s beachfront location. In developing the custom broadloom, she chose a range of blues as an homage to the surrounding Atlantic ocean, and incorporated those colors into patterns reminiscent of art deco designs.
The hallway corridor runner that Brintons produced has a geometric pattern with a blue ombre coloration that appears to roll towards the apartment entrance doors like subtle waves. In the building’s other common areas blues were used again but in an over-scaled Celtic-like design evoking the look of bubbling water, again a reference to the sea.
To define the two facing luxurious sitting areas, Brintons manufactured loose lay rugs in pinks, black, and grays that resemble romantic yet timeless Persian oriental carpets.
“Working with Brintons on this project has been a pleasure. Their online design studio made it easy to create the designs while the entire Brintons team made the process delightful. They were exceptional.”
