Palmer House Hilton Chicago

Brintons produced bespoke Axminster carpet for the Palmer House Hilton Chicago.
Designed by Anderson|Miller, Ltd., the custom patterns draw directly from the building’s historic architecture. Ornate plaster medallions, gilded acanthus moldings, and classical cornice details are reinterpreted as richly layered floor designs that reflect the character of each space.
A palette of deep crimsons and royal blues, accented with sweeping gold Baroque scrollwork and repeating floral medallions, brings cohesion to the Ballroom, Red Lacquer Room, and adjoining prefunction areas. Each design is carefully scaled and composed to complement—and complete—the hotel’s remarkable architectural setting.
Working with Brintons on the custom designs for the Palmer House Hilton was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Their team was consistently responsive — revisions were turned around quickly, and physical samples arrived well ahead of our expectations. But what truly sets Brintons apart is their full-scale print simulations. Simply put, they are the best in the business.
Though technically two-dimensional, these SIMS have a remarkable depth and presence that reads almost three-dimensional — an extraordinary quality that proved invaluable on a project of this scale and complexity. For a commission involving gigantic electronic Jacquard patterns across multiple grand historic spaces, the relative accuracy of Brintons' simulations allowed our team at Anderson|Miller, Ltd. and the hotel's stakeholders to fully visualize and understand the true scale and impact of each design well before production ever began. That confidence going into production is something you simply can't put a price on.
