Hotel Brooklyn

Based in a newly built tower on Manchester’s famous Portland Street, Hotel Brooklyn features 189 innovative guest-rooms and suites set over 10 storeys, a lively restaurant, and an expansive 9th floor banqueting space with its own bar.  Brintons worked on this project alongside Squid.inc, the design team behind the luxury art-deco style Hotel Gotham.

Interior Designer Oliver Redfern of Squid.inc worked with Brintons Senior Creative Designer Jane Bradley-Bain to create bespoke carpets for key public areas and guest-rooms. The Persian style design creates a modern antique feel, adding plenty of interest underfoot. A steel grey and neutral colour palette was selected to complement the cool contemporary interiors which are decorated with illustrations of New York street scenes.

Guest-rooms feature a loft-inspired aesthetic with carefully curated furniture and exquisite finishing touches such as Turkish inspired carpets by Brintons which contrast beautifully with the concrete walls. Squid.inc wanted to create the look of a traditional Persian carpet that was like an old family heirloom handed down, slightly faded but still very elegant and homely. A quirky angled layout enforces the bold urban feel of the guest-rooms, providing guests with an insight into the vibrant city outside.

Up on the ninth floor the Salvation bar, attached to a flexible banqueting and function space named Brooklyn Heights, features floor to ceiling windows with breathtaking views of Chinatown to Manchester town hall and beyond. The bespoke carpet design in this space incorporates a snap shot of the streets of Manchester whilst the complementing corridor designs features a depiction of the streets of Brooklyn.

Manchester’s newest luxury hotel from the owners of Hotel Gotham, pays homage to the iconic New York borough, the building itself draws inspiration from the traditional Victorian Brownstone buildings, which are a familiar sight in both Manchester.

Hotel Brooklyn is also one of UK’s most accessible hotels with 18 of its 189 rooms and suites adapted for guests with a need for accessibility. Parent company Bespoke Hotels aims to set the gold standard, providing outstanding accessibility in rooms that are almost unrecognisably different from standard rooms.
