Firekeepers Casino, Battle Creek

The Firekeepers Casino is the 19th Indian gaming casino in the state of Michigan and was opened in August 2009. The venue is owned by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi and Perez Architects was responsible for shaping the interior of the venue. Brintons’ design and technical expertise in the gaming industry meant it was commissioned to provide the cushion-back Axminster carpet tiles for the project.

Brintons delivered 19 different designs to the Firekeepers Casino, all of which gave the floors in the venue a contemporary finish that was in keeping with the rest of the interior theme. The final designs were heavily influenced by the ‘Art Fusion’ collection and drew on a mixed colour palette that reflected a number of key tribal themes that included ‘air’, ‘water’ and ‘fire’. Thanks to the quality of its in cushion-back carpet tiles, Brintons achieved a seamless finish that gave the venue the definition and impact of Axminster design, within a tile installation.

We’re extremely pleased with the flooring results at Firekeepers. Thanks to Brintons, we have managed to create a number of strong and different looks that are both contemporary and totally suitable for Firekeepers Development Authority’s gaming property of this nature. We wanted to work with Brintons because, as a 225-year-old company, we knew it would be passionate about the tribe’s heritage and embrace this through inspirational design. Couple that with the company’s technical expertise when it comes to developing a cushion-back carpet tile scheme which is completely seemless in appearance, we feel we have worked with the ideal flooring partner on this project.
