Brintons partnered with Harken Interiors on 7,000+ SY of custom Axminster carpet for the renovation of 600 N. Lake Shore Drive.

The dual tower condominium building is positioned in a dynamic location surrounded by the city of Chicago, Lake Michigan + the Ohio Street Beach, and the Chicago River + Ogden Slip. The project included renovations to the lobby lounges, two community rooms, a business center, and multiple offices. The goal was to update the establishment to reflect the perceived and actual property value while also integrating the personality of the community and location.

Partners + Co-Founders Jaclyn Moser and Chris Sommers stressed the importance in the community’s input regarding the project’s redesign. During the design sessions with the community, the Brintons and Harken Interiors teams molded ideas into one that truly represents the beauty of Chicago and the property itself: Convergence of City and Shore.

Of course, with every project comes hurdles ranging in size. Brintons wool-rich Axminster and it’s vast pom selection of colors aided in providing a solution for developing a pattern with a totally new color palette and design language while still connecting to the existing stone, wood, and architectural features throughout the building.

Giving a freshly updated and timeless result, the Brintons carpet designs create a delicate balance of organic patterning, soft geometric overlays, and a color palette that is inspired by both nature and the reflections of the glass city skyscrapers.
