Urban Intricacies

Introducing Urban Intricacies, a carpet collection in collaboration with Talisha Fiaz, a textile graduate of Birmingham City University.

Dedicated to supporting new talent, Brintons has a long established relationship with Birmingham City University's School of Fashion and Textiles, providing support to textile degree students during their final year projects.

Talisha's design style incorporates merging juxtaposing aesthetics resulting in a truly inspirational collection that offers heritage-inspired patterns with contrasting urban elements.

Carpets in the Urban Intricacies range

The designs aim to promote celebrating the beauty in the areas in which we grow up and take pride in the places where we come from ensuring that they will become meaningful heirlooms to future generations.

I aimed to create designs that served and appreciated culture. This came about when I explored my own identity, being a British Pakistani.

Inspiration was derived from the idea of merging an urban grungy aesthetic derived from Birmingham, integrated with components of an intricate, floral aesthetic inspired by the East to create a distinctive style.

Talisha Fiaz

Textile Graduate

After awarding our annual prize to Talisha at last year's graduate show, we were so impressed by her designs and processes that we commissioned her to create a capsule design collection.

Recognising new talent is vital and we are honoured to have worked with Talisha beyond her graduation resulting in this striking and compelling collection.
