Eterna is inspired by the ever-changing rhythms of nature. Drawing from the shifting landscapes of Traynor’s garden in Maine, this collection reflects the cyclical beauty of the equinoxes and solstices, where each season unfolds in a symphony of transformation.
From the fresh emergence of spring to the radiant warmth of summer, the collection transitions into the golden hues of autumn before settling into the serene stillness of winter. Each design captures the essence of nature’s perpetual cycle, weaving together colors, textures, and movement that echo the passing seasons.

About Elaine Traynor, Designer of Eterna
Elaine is a seasoned designer in the carpet industry with 38 years of experience. She earned a BA (Hons) in Industrial Design from the Scottish College of Textiles and spent the early part of her career in Scotland. In 2006, she moved to the U.S. and worked in the hospitality sector, based in New England, until 2017. She then transitioned to the marine sector, where she continues to apply her expertise in carpet design.
Beyond her professional life, Elaine has a deep love for gardening, growing her own vegetables and fruit, and engaging in extensive canning. She shares her home with three spirited Australian cattle dogs and a cat that insists on behaving like one of them. Her two grandsons keep her constantly on the move. An avid traveler, she enjoys exploring new places and immersing herself in different cultures.
