Brintons “Fireworks” rug debuts at Olympic Ball

23rd November 2012

Team GB’s brief to Brintons was to create a rug which encapsulated the magic of the Olympic Games. So we began the design process by reviewing images of the games (courtesy of Getty images), knowing we wanted to weave a rug that captured a moment in our history and would be a wonderful piece of art in its own right.

Woven using Brintons High Definition Weave technology the “Fireworks” rug has thirty two colours and truly captures the excitement and celebration of the opening ceremony.

The “Fireworks” rug will be auctioned at the Olympic Ball on Friday 30th November, Grosvenor House Hotel, all proceeds going to support our athletes.

Rug size: 6ft 4” high by 9ft 4”wide.

Construction: woven Axminster

Colours: 32

Yarn: 80% wool, 20% nylon
