Hotel CBD, Gold Coast, Australia
The newest wave in entertainment hospitality can be found at Hotel CBD, a boutique tavern located on Australia’s Gold Coast, in the business district of Varsity Lakes and nearby Bond University.
The 1,520 sqm venue includes fine and casual dining, sports lounges, stage entertainment, gaming and function facilities, accommodating up to 1,000 patrons.

Designed by David Raby Architects, the $5 million fit-out presented significant challenges. As David Raby notes, “We had a very tight time line and unique project that needed an appropriate design. I came to Brintons with a picture which showed the ambience I wanted to create. They came back to me with the perfect carpet."
While some designers might fear working with custom carpet designs on a short turnaround, Raby knew he could rely on Brintons’ design and service capabilities to meet his requirements, as he had when designing The Coro Hotel in Brisbane. The process from concept to order placement took less than 40 days; then, in another five weeks, the carpet was delivered on site.
The 69 cm wide, 34.5 oz woven Axminster carpet included both solid color and stripe patterned products, which were installed by Award Carpets in alternating sections throughout the facility. The end result: “Hotel CBD - Gold Coast’s premier entertainment venue. Enjoy the experience.”
