The Coro Hotel, Brisbane, Australia

Orignally built in 1964, the Coro was known as a popular meeting place for business people and politicians.

When it came to its recent refurbishment, a strong demand for the inner city apartment lifestyle led to the building of a completely new restaurant and bar located in a ten storey building, which, once complete, will house fifty 5-6 star apartments.

The Coro Hotel Gaming area
Brintons worked closely with David Raby Architect, Geoff Lewis - part owner/manager and Jack Zappala - owner/developer to produce the stunning textured effect carpet for the restaurant area. This design containing a 2.1m x 2.1m pattern repeat was woven in 2 colourways in 0.69m width, to a total of 200 sq.m.

The design brief for the restaurant was to replicate a very large steel wall panel, plans for which were sent to Frances Allen in our Geelong design studio. The innovative design used in this project led to the hotel being shortlisted for an interior design award by the Design Institute of Australia.
