Katagami - the art of pattern

Brintons launch to the press their latest inspirational design collection. Brintons hold one of the world’s largest private collections of Japanese stencils (over 800) and have transformed these beautiful, hand-crafted pieces into a unique and inspiring collection of carpet designs.

It is with great pleasure that Brintons announces that it has completed the installation for Shanghai Pudong International Airport - well in advance of the new terminal’s scheduled grand-opening in March 2008. The carpet has been installed in International Departure Terminal Two and the project is considered to be China's largest-ever Axminster carpet installation.

Brintons carpets Changi airport's new Terminal 3

On January 9, 2008, Singapore’s Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 (T3) revealed its unique architectural and interior design approach to air travel for the future, opening its gates to an estimated 22 million passengers annually. Deemed the “ultimate feeling of hospitality” by Matt Findlay, principal of Woodhead Australia, the $1.75 billion facility boasts a 5-story “Green Wall” vertical garden with 4 waterfalls, 28 aerobridge gates, 70 retail shops, 30 food and beverage outlets and other luxurious amenities – all in an amazing composition of steel, glass, stone and carpet.

Over 100,000 m2 of custom woven Axminster carpet from Brintons graces the huge open areas in T3 including arrival and departure halls, meeting points, waiting areas, lounges and retail environments. In addition, Brintons carpet is used in Singapore Airlines’ First Class, Business Class and A+ lounges and in corridors and guest rooms of the Transit Hotel’s 66-room on-site facility.

The Orchid Project

The distinctive Deco styling of The Orchid Projects provides a reference point for high contrast colour combinations as well as the contrasting forms of angle and curve.

The colour palette also reflects the drama of this exotic Orchid lineage, including crimson, turquoise, mustard and purple on backgrounds of deep darks and misty neutrals. However, these custom designs may be re-colored to match any project requirements.

Brintons identifies Las Vegas as a business focal point

With the continued expansion of the new World Market Center, its growing portfolio of manufacturer showrooms, and the city’s ever evolving diversity of design and style, Brintons expects Las Vegas to increase its importance and influence as “a micro environment of resort destinations showcasing the cutting edge of global hospitality trends”. According to Mark Page, Brintons’ Design Director for North and South America, the company has recently enlarged its design studio and showroom facilities in Las Vegas.

He explains that We have for many years recognized the importance of Las Vegas in serving the hospitality market, and we have chosen Las Vegas as the focal point for our largest center for design support and development to allow optimal visibility of future market direction.

The new 2,400 sq.ft facility is located at 3180 W. Sahara. As well as being the office base for our regional sales and field design staff, it houses an extensive range of product samples, including examples of custom woven Axminster carpets and co-ordinated handcrafted area rugs.

The Spirit Collection

Brintons has created a new custom design series, entitled The Spirit Collection.

Comprised of over a dozen contemporary patterns, the collection uses co-ordinating colour palettes and a variety of design elements to create a wide range of pattern configurations, suited to almost any commercial interior.
