Inside Sydney's 5-star Celebrity Hotspot

10th November 2014

Featured this week in the Daily Mail, The InterContinental Sydney Double Bay was host to all walks of celebrity life in 90's Australia.

From Princess Diana, Sir Elton John, Madonna, Bill Clinton and tragically, the final resting place of INXS frontman Michael Hutchence; the former Ritz Carlton has undergone a 5 year hiatus and some exciting renovations to restore its former glory.

Brintons have supplied carpet for the guest rooms, reception and dining areas using sleek, modern geometric designs.

The InterContinental still boasts 140 rooms, including 15 suites, with most opening out onto private balconies that offer sweeping views of Double Bay.

The architecture of the newly opened InterContinental Sydney Double Bay is characterised by a blend of contemporary design and beautifully reinstated features.

The hotel has been extensively renovated from the nineties style of the Ritz Carlton, but still maintains some of the original flair.

The Italian white marble throughout the hotel and the grey-green marble fireplaces are original pieces from 1991.

A grand piano in the exclusive Stillery gin bar has also been restored.
