InterContinental, Hong Kong

InterContinental Hong Kong unveiled its spectacular new ballroom and pre-function refurbishment in September 2011 to coincide with the hotel’s 10th anniversary. Brintons created an over-scale repeating circular design that would suit the enormous pillar-less space.

The repeating circular pattern mirrored the continuous ripples and movement of Hong Kong’s harbour and incorporates important elements of feng shui. The design also links nicely with the circular 360 degree bar in the adjoining pre-function area. A rich palette of blended copper, burgundy and red combine to bathe the space in a luxurious sea of golden tones, creating a dramatic visual impact for guests.

The carpet design is truly stunning and has been an integral feature of the contemporary and refreshing new look of our InterContinental Hong Kong Ballroom. As per Woods Bagot designer Stephen Jones, the design of the custom-designed Brintons carpet in the newly renovated InterContinental Ballroom represents merging “pools of energy” which create a positive flow of “chi” through the space.
