Brintons Linley runner - Burlington Arcade
10th May 2013
The Burlington Arcade in Mayfair, London is set to replace it's traditional 180-metre carpet, which runs the full length of the arcade with a new highly anticipated secret design.
Situated between Bond Street and Piccadilly, Burlington Arcade is one of the world’s oldest and most celebrated shopping arcades. Built in 1819 by Lord George Cavendish, younger brother of the 5th Duke of Devonshire and designed by Samuel Ware, the arcade has a rich and varied history and is the world's first covered shopping area.
World renowned bespoke furniture and interior designer LINLEY were commissioned by the Burlington Arcade to design the runner (which took over 250 hours to design) and Brintons were chosen to make the stunning design in to a reality.
The new runner will be unveiled at a special event held at the Burlington Arcade on June 17th.
Designer Matthew Jer from Linley visited Brintons HQ and manufacturing plant in Kidderminster, Worcestershire to see the runner being produced on our High Definition looms.
