The Carpet Museum opens in Kidderminster
19th October 2012
The Museum of Carpet has officially opened within a stunning Grade II listed 19th-century Stour Vale Mill. The Brintons team was proud to be invited to opening and was one of the first to witness this exciting, interactive museum complete with Carpet Archive, Library and working looms.
Some 20 volunteers, many of whom were former factory workers in the area, have founded the Museum. They have worked tirelessly for up to 30 years to fund and equip the factory.
Brintons have donated many items which form part of the museum’s exhibits including a dress designed by Vivienne Westwood made from Brintons carpet. A bespoke runner, which illustrates the timeline for carpet manufacturer and design within the area as well as images from Brintons own archives.
